About Our Practice in Asheville

Arelis is an NC Licensed Optician who joined our team in January 2024. She has been helping eyewear users with their visual needs since 1998. Arelis uses her extensive experience to analyze order measurements, frame adjustments, and prescription dynamics to enhance your best vision.

By focusing on high-quality products and excellent customer care, Arelis has been able to put both her years of experience in the field and her fashion sense to good use. Over the years, she has shown her strength as a fabulous fashion eyewear consultant.

When not at Carolina Eye Care, Arelis enjoys designing elaborate hats and loves spending time outdoors glamping, which is just like camping but with so many more things. When you are ready to change up your style or need a frame adjustment come on by and meet Arelis; she would love to help you find your next pair of glasses!

Rachel is the Operations Coordinator at Carolina Eye Care on Merrimon. She has numerous years of experience with training and developing staff as well as keeping business operations running smoothly. Specializing in customer service, Rachel utilizes that experience to cultivate relationships with vendors and patients alike.

By focusing on the finer details of business success, Rachel has been able to put her years of experience in sales and retail to good use. Over the years, Rachel has strived to communicate effectively and works diligently towards her professional and personal goals. Rachel may spend her days at the reception desk, but it is the patients and the vendors that we partner with that make her excited to be here.

When she isn’t checking patients in or out, Rachel is working in a flower bed or petting one of her (far too large) menagerie of pets. She loves spending time reading fanfiction, kayaking, and spending time with her family.

Alisha is an Ophthalmic Technician at Carolina Eye Care on Merrimon, bringing her eye for details and passion for patient care to every interaction. With over 12 years of living in Asheville, she’s deeply rooted in the community she serves. Alisha finds genuine joy in connecting with patients, making their experience as comfortable and informative as possible. Outside of work, she loves exploring new destinations, cherishing moments with friends, and nurturing her love for animals. Currently considering adopting a furry friend, Alisha’s heart is always open to new companionship, be it a cat, dog, or maybe even both!

Born in Buncombe County and a native of Asheville, Laura is a Patient Care Coordinator and Insurance Specialist at CECOM with 20 years of experience helping patients in WNC. Special-eye-zing in problem-solving, kindness, and efficiency, Laura uses that experience to cater to each patient’s questions and needs.

When Laura is not at work, she’s an avid reader who possesses two green thumbs she inherited from her long lineage in Appalachia. She also loves spending quality time with her twin teenagers, partner, and cats.
